About us

The idea for Testarda was born in Milan, about a year after I hastily put together a headpiece for an event as a last attempt to save a boring outfit. I spent hours threading various beads through long lines of elastic wondering "is this even going to fit on my head?". The result certainly had the "hand-crafted aesthetic" with a lot of visible imperfections, but at the same time, the moment I wore it I felt like my plain outfit suddenly had a breath of fresh air.

Following the event and feedback that I received, I was determined to pursue the development of this headpiece to iron out the imperfections from the first "prototype". So I began creating and modifying headpieces, experimenting with different beads, sizes and styles with the goal of making one that was simple enough to pair with many outfits. I work in fashion, I live fashion, and I know what it means to always want to be well-dressed. But I also understand that sometimes it can be a chore.

I wanted to create something so that in those moments of 'ugh, I don’t know what to wear tonight" there is the option to add a touch of elegance to any outfit. And I wanted to make it accessible for everyone. I can now confidently wear my simple black dress for the one hundredth time knowing that I can pair it with something effortless that will completely transform my look.

So that, in a nutshell, is how Testarda was born. I hope it can solve as many dramatic evenings in front of the wardrobe for you as it has done for me

MATERIALS:

Beads are made from polypropylene, a versatile and widely-used material celebrated for its strength, lightweight nature, and recyclability.
The beads are hand-strung with an elastic nylon cord, creating the pattern that characterizes our headpieces and makes them unique and suitable for all sizes.
A small stainless steel tag engraved with T (Testarda initial) is attached to ensure its authenticity!
